UPC at a Glance History Key Disciplines Overview China University of Petroleum (UPC) is a national key university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education and a member of the “211 Project” and “985 project innovation platform for well-established disciplines” universities. In 2017, it has been listed among the national plan of Double First-class Construction. It is co-constructed by Ministry of Education, five leading petroleum and petrochemical companies (CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC, CHINA SHENHUA and YANCHANG PETROLEUM) and Shandong Province. Honored as “the cradle of Petroleum talents”, UPC is an important base of high-level talents education for petroleum and petrochemical industry and has already developed into a multi-disciplinary and well-rounded university focusing on petroleum and engineering.

Introduction

The School of Storage, Transportation and Construction Engineering is one of the key colleges under construction at China University of Petroleum (East China). The history of the college can be traced back to the Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Teaching and Research Office and Mechanics Teaching and Research Office established in the 1950s based on the Petroleum Department of Tsinghua University. The Department of Construction Engineering was established in 1995, the Department of Storage and Transportation Engineering was established in 1999, and the School of Storage and Transportation and Construction Engineering was established in 2001. The college has 5 teaching departments; There is one doctoral degree authorization first level discipline, three doctoral program authorization points, and two postdoctoral mobile stations established; There are 3 academic master's degree authorization points and 2 professional master's degree authorization points established; There are 5 undergraduate majors, 2 national first-class majors, 1 Shandong Province first-class major, 1 national characteristic major, and 1 Shandong Province characteristic major. The discipline of oil and gas storage and transportation (petroleum and natural gas engineering) is a national key discipline and has been selected for the national "Double First Class" construction discipline list. The fourth round of national discipline evaluation results are A+; Engineering mechanics is a key discipline in Shandong Province.
