Durability of Concrete, Corrosion of Reinforcement, Non Destructive Testing and Forensic Structural Engineering,Sustainable Construction Materials
Dr. Mohammad obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Eng. from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, M.Sc. (Eng) from University of Liverpool, UK and Ph.D. from Aston University, UK. His research interests include Concrete Durability, Corrosion of Reinforcement, NDT & Structural Forensic Engineering, Sustainable Construction Materials and Environmental Engineering. He developed his interest in durability after seeing many engineering structures and public amenities deteriorate early, before their expected period. Some of his research output were published in Q1 & Q2 ISI journals including Journal of Cleaner Production,
Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Environmental Management, ACI Material Journal and other index journals. Up to now, Mohammad and his team members have published more than 180 papers for various journals, conference proceedings and keynote address. His H-index is 13.His expertise in durability and corrosion of reinforcement make him be frequently invited to review journal articles at national and international level and also been invited as keynote speaker of various conferences. Up to now (2018), he has graduated 15 PhD students and 31 master students. He has won various awards in research exhibitions including Gold medal at ITEX Malaysia and SIIF, Korea. He organised and initiated international conferences and had been the chairman of Asia Pacific Structural Engineering Conference (APSEC) three times viz. 2006, 2012 and 2015. Apsec-2012 conference was held in Surabaya, Indonesia in collarborations with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), and Apsec-2015 was sponsored by international Japanese body (AUN/SEED-Net). With this level of knowledge and experience, he has been involved in many consultations works which includes; testing and evaluating bridges, buildings, pump house and even stadiums.
